Michael Rawlins ~ President
Michael is Director of Human Factors Engineering for Open Solutions Inc. in the world headquarters located in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He is responsible for all user experience activities for the Open Solutions enterprise.
Prior to joining Open Solutions, Michael provided leadership and creative direction for Tallan Inc, MassMutual, Hartford Life and Aetna Inc.
Michael graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a double major in History and Fine Arts. He resides in South Glastonbury with his wife Rhonda, and their teenage children Melissa and Dylan.
Andrew Siegel ~ Vice President
Andrew (AJ) Siegel started his involvement in the field of human factors
with a term paper on the usability of automated rest room devices.
From the bowels of that effort to his start at Travelers Insurance
in 2006, his steadfast focus on the user experience brought him to
his current role. He now leads the Usability Team for Personal Insurance-Direct,
testing on the web, the mobile web, and on mobile applications.
AJ lives in West Hartford, Connecticut, with his 2 hot dogs Frank
and Minnie, and his girlfriend Camille. An avid cyclist, he rides
the 5 miles to work on his Specialized Road Bike, racing CT Transit
all the way to the Wadsworth. Luckily, he doesn’t have to stop
for bus riders so he usually wins!
John C. Dozier ~ Secretary
John began his usability career by attending and graduating from the Master
of Science in Human Factors in Information Design program at Bentley University
in Waltham, MA. While at Bentley, John took part in an internship
that allowed him to conduct
research which he later presented at the annual meeting of the Usability
Professionals Association in Montreal, Canada. After graduating from
Bentley in May of 2005, he immediately began working as a Research Associate
for the American Institutes for Research in Concord, MA and later transitioned
into the position of Usability Specialist at Fidelity Investments in Merrimack,
NH working under Tom Tullis. John and his wife Holly moved to Ansonia,
CT in November of 2007 allowing John to work as a Human Factors Engineer
at Aetna in Hartford. After commuting from Ansonia to Hartford for
more than a year, John and his wife bought a house in Manchester where
they live with their dogs Chessie and Maggie. Throughout his career,
John has been fascinated with technology and the role it plays in our daily
lives. He is passionate about making contributions to the usability
field making technology useful and easy to use as it becomes more and more
integrated into our work and play.
Paul Linton ~ Treasurer
Paul
M. Linton has recently retired as a Principal Human Factors Engineer
at Pitney
Bowes in Shelton, Connecticut. He holds a bachelors degree in Electrical
Engineering from Tufts University, an MS degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Southern California, and an MS degree in Computer
Science and Information Technology from Sacred Heart University in
Fairfield Connecticut.
Mr. Linton joined Pitney Bowes in 2000. During his 10 years he was recognized for contributions to the DM 500 and DM100i user interface designs, each of which won an IDSA Industrial Design of the Year Awards in their launch years. His major interests lie in the area of prototyping and testing of Windows-based and web-based user interfaces, and he is accomplished in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and several software prototyping tools such as Microsoft Visio™, Visual Basic.NET, Microsoft Expression Blend and Sketch Flow, and Axure Pro 5®. Mr. Linton has also planned and conducted numerous usability tests evaluating both Pitney Bowes hardware and software products and solutions.
Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, Mr. Linton worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for fifteen years. While at Sikorsky, Mr. Linton served as Head, Crew Systems Integration and later as Program Engineering Manager for the Day-Night Adverse Weather Pilotage System (DNAPS), where he directed a professional staff of 20 engineers and contractors in the development of an artificial intelligence co-pilot that performed navigation, threat avoidance and weapon delivery in a single seat attack helicopter. Prior to joining Sikorsky Aircraft, he worked for the Department of Defense in a civilian employee capacity. Mr. Linton was at one time technical manager for all advanced development efforts in crew station integration for the United States Navy, chaired the NATO Defense Research group on Modeling of Human Operator Behavior in Weapons Systems, served as co-chair of the NATO Defense Research Group on Color Electronic Displays, chaired the Department of Defense Human Factors Engineering Technical Advisory Group and currently holds the distinction of being a Designated Subject Matter Expert, for the Human Systems Information Analysis Center (HSIAC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
Mr. Linton resides in Madison, Connecticut with his wife Sandi and has two grown children. His hobbies include sports of any type, particularly baseball, computer technology, and photography.
