Who Should Join?
Membership in the Connecticut Chapter of the Usability Professionals Association is encouraged for any professional working in the usability-related disciplines such as Human Factors, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Web Development, Information Architecture, and the cognitive sciences. However, there is no requirement to be an actively working professional in the field to join our Chapter. Any interested individual who is a "friend of usability" is sincerely encouraged to join us.
Benefits
The Connecticut Chapter of the Usability Professionals Association;
- Provides a local network through which usability professionals can share information about the techniques and methodologies in the profession.
- Creates an inclusive local community for those interested in usability, whether it is their primary focus or a related discipline.
- Increases the body of knowledge about usability and user-centered design through professional education, meetings and conventions and other professional interchanges.
- Provides the opportunity to find a job or hire a usability professional.
The benefits of membership include the opportunity to attend
all events sponsored by the Chapter at no additional cost. Non-members
will be requested to pay $10.00 (full time student $5.00) to attend
our functions. Additionally, all Chapter members will have full
access to the CT UPA wiki where they can post items, place and download
files, read current news, and generally engage in a rich interaction
with usability experts all over the state of Connecticut.
